Improving the patient. This is at the center of our commitment to creating mixed reality applications in the healthcare space.
The starting point for eXeX was a partnership with Dr. Robert Masson. As the founder of theMasson Spine Institute, he serves as the Director of the Orlando Health Central Hospital JCAHO accredited Spine Center of Excellence. Dr. Masson, via his iMAS procedure has been credited with having the least invasive micro-reconstruction in the world, and has developed more than 20 iMAS Centers of Excellence worldwide.
Historically, all of the phases of spine surgery were compartmentalized individual solutions done through different products and phases, with little if any integration. iMAS differs in that all of the products and sequences are arranged as a complete symphony solution, reducing morbidity, complications, infections, length of time in surgery, incision size, blood loss, length of stay and ultimately time away from fitness, performance and life.
With the knowledge that the iMAS Procedure is vastly superior to traditional spine surgery, theeXeX team started to devise on overall “Patient Journey” where every phase of a patient’s experience is taken into account and factored in. Secondly the team began to break down the individual assignments in the operating room to identify gaps in efficiency and performance where a mixed reality system could improve these metrics.
eXeX has worked in the surgery lab with Dr. Masson over the last year, and now has several applications in development for different members of the surgical team, with the goal to provide mixed reality visualization and data to improve performance and efficiency along key tasks.
These steps are to lay a groundwork for creating several mixed reality ecosystems within the healthcare space that can dramatically improve the patient journey.
